Unhelpful:

I’ll do it just this once

 I can’t tolerate this terrible feeling

 I should give myself a break today and give in

I’ll never get better, so why even try;

I feel too fragile to do this

Helpful:

I deserve to get the life I want back

I’ve done hard things before and can now too

Even if I can’t resist, I can delay or alter the ritual

I can choose my values with or without discomfort

I am resilient

Positive Affirmations can be powerful.
